DID YOU KNOW?
This week the team has created some rather informative and interesting facts. Enjoy these facts and learn something new about the events occurring in our world.
1. Veggies are healthy for you. They include high levels of vitamins, minerals, fibre, and a plethora of trace nutrients that science is just now beginning to fully understand. Eating vegetables is linked to better health and a lower risk of disease in observational studies. They add variety to your diet.
2. One of the most vital, recognised, and prolific composers of the classical era was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (27 January 1756–5 December 1791). As a child genius, he began to compose over 600 works at a tender age, including some of the most renowned symphonic, chamber, operatic, and choral pieces.
3. The spear’s everyday use in battle and hunting led to the development of javelin throwing as a sport. It was a popular sport in ancient Greece and was added to the Olympic Games in the pentathlon in 708 BC. Since 1908 for men and 1932 for women, it has been a part of the modern Olympic Games schedule.
4. Pitohuis are omnivorous birds with striking colours. Hooded pitohuis receive the chemical neurotoxic from a particular species of Choresine beetle. When your hands come in contact with a pitohui’s feathers, they will start to burn right away. If the toxin is consumed, your sodium channels won’t work.
5. ADHD is a prevalent neurodevelopmental disorder in kids. It is identified in childhood and continues throughout adulthood. It may be difficult for children with ADHD to control their impulsive behaviour and pay attention. The most effective treatment for ADHD is medication and behaviour therapy.
6. Play-Doh was initially created in Cincinnati, Ohio, in the 1930s as a wallpaper cleaner. In the middle of the 1950s, Play-Doh was revised and promoted in Cincinnati schools. In 1956, Play-Doh was exhibited at a conference for educators, and prestigious department stores opened retail accounts.
