1. Santa Cruz del Islote is an artificial island in the San Bernardo Archipelago off the coast of Colombia. It has roughly the area of two soccer fields, four major streets and ten communities. On the island, 500 people reside in around 155 homes. It is the world’s most densely inhabited island.
2. Many people are aware that Saint Nicholas, a famous Greek Christian bishop known for his generosity and good nature, served as Santa Claus. He was also known as “Father Christmas.” On December 6, “St. Nikolaus Day” is celebrated in Germany by having individuals leave their shoes outside of their doors.
3. Essam El Hadary, an Egyptian goalkeeper who participated in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, is the oldest player to have ever competed in the World Cup. He is 45 years old. In his subsequent game, he saved a penalty shot, making him the oldest goalie to ever save a World Cup penalty shot.
4. Acorn production in oak trees begins after 50 years. When fully grown, they are capable of producing over 10,000 acorns, the majority of which are consumed by animals. Only one in a thousand, on average, lives to become an oak tree. In other words, an oak tree at full maturity produces one oak a year.
5. The University of Oxford is older than the Aztec Empire. The university welcomed students in 1096. By the year 1249, it had developed into a full-fledged university with dorms for students and a set curriculum. During the reign of King Henry III, the university was given a royal charter in 1248.
6. On Earth, there are around 4 quadrillion quadrillion bacteria. Not all bacteria are hazardous. In fact, some of those small biological cells benefit humans and the world in a number of subtle ways. These are the most populous species in the world, but they also outnumber all animal populations combined.
