1. Lemons float, but limes sink. Lemons have equal density to that of water, limes are denser than their yellow counterparts. Objects can only float if they are less dense than the liquid they are immersed in. Lemons float while limes always sink, regardless of whether the lemon or lime is whole or diced.

2. The Buddha commonly portrayed in statues is entirely a different individual. The actual Buddha was incredibly skinny due to self-deprivation. Due to the prominence of aniconism in Buddhism, there were no existing depictions of the Buddha in artistic form until around the second century CE.

3. The Circus Maximus in Rome is the biggest sports venue ever constructed. According to historians, the circus could accommodate between 150,000 and 250,000 people at once. It was used for chariot racing and the execution of criminals, including Christians and Jews, as part of the Roman Triumph.

4. Saint Lucia is the only country named after a woman. The nation was given Saint Lucy of Syracuse as its name by the French after many conflicts between the French and British. The purpose was to increase public knowledge of Saint Lucian women who are ambitious and successful in their fields.

5. The initial invaders of Britain were the Romans. Britain was a mythological land, and the majority of people were not aware that it existed until 55 BC. Therefore, with tremendous intentions, the future dictator Julius Caesar decided to conquer Britain in order to achieve fame and fortune.

6. A unicorn is Scotland’s national animal. Unicorns have been a part of many different cultures for ages. In Celtic mythology, they stand for power, innocence, and purity. The unicorn was selected as Scotland’s national animal due to the dominance and chivalry stories attached to it.
