- Doreen Bogdan-Martin is the first woman to serve as the secretary general of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The earliest worldwide telegraph networks were supervised by the International Telecommunication Union. Doreen Bogdan-Martin will take over as head of the first UN agency, which regulates several elements of international communication. There were some skepticisms before the election because Ms. Bogdan’s opponent, Rashid Ismailov, had previously fought for worldwide internet regulation.

- Climate change is threatening castles, according to the conservation charity English Heritage. Six castles are under threat from coastal erosion and increasing sea levels as singled out by the organization that oversees over 400 ancient monuments around England. Hurst Castle in Hampshire and Tintagel in Cornwall are two examples. The Organization is requesting funds to restore barriers and strengthen defenses against storms and large waves. There is strong agreement among scientists that sea levels will continue to rise for many hundred years.
- Due to an impending hurricane, the American space agency will withdraw its Artemis-I Moon rocket from launch pad in Florida. To preserve the Space Launch System(SLS) vehicle, NASA says that it will be wheeled back into its engineering workshop. Hurricane Ian is currently making its way toward Florida. NASA cannot take the chance of having its expensive rocket damaged. NASA had anticipated that the storm’s path over the Gulf would send it far enough west that the rocket could remain outside on the launch pad, for an early lift-off.
- Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple claims that there are still “not enough women at the table” in all IT companies, including his own. Technology “would not achieve nearly what it could do” without a more diverse workforce, according to Mr. Cook in his latest interview. He stated that there are “no good justifications” for the paucity of women in the industry.” People will be perplexed by our lack of AR in the future, he predicts. We are heavily investing in that area. Digital media and the physical environment are combined to create Augmented Reality.
- In England, low-income homes will have their energy efficiency increased as part of a £1.5 billion government plan that will also address inadequate insulation. To upgrade 130,000 houses, double glazing, heat pumps, solar panels, as well as wall and loft insulation might all receive funding. The dwellings in the UK are now among the least energy efficient in Europe.
