1. “You use more muscles to frown than to smile,” is not scientifically true. In fact, it takes more facial muscles to smile than to frown on average. It does, however, take more effort to frown. Save that energy any remember to always try to turn that frown upside down.

2. When Sir Isaac Newton had the pioneering insight of gravity, he had been forced to return home from the Cambridge University, where he studied, due to the bubonic plague outbreak. Against all odds, he did the unthinkable. The famous tree he sat under in his Woolsthorpe Manor home is still there.

3. A great way to develop one’s critical thinking and creativity is by doing art. It also teaches us multiple perspectives on any particular point or thought. It is also a pleasurable way of learning these skills. Try it sometime.

4. The sun that we wake up to on a daily basis will not always be around. It will eventually become hundreds of times brighter and a hundred times bigger than it currently is it will collapse under gravity. No worries though, this will be in a few billion years to come. Whew!

5. On April 15 1912, the “unsinkable” RMS Titanic tragically sank. This catastrophic incident triggered a serious change in the safety of future maritime travel. The navigation system and number of lifeboats on board are just some of the major improvements made to date.

6. The first ever handheld mobile phone made was a Motorolla Dyna TAC 8000X. It was invented by Martin Cooper and it weighed in at about 1.1 kg with a battery life of 20 minutes when talking. We have definitely come a long way since then, haven’t we?
