1. Upon waking, it has been found that individuals tend to forget around 50% of the dreams they experienced within the first five minutes of consciousness. This increases to 90% within ten minutes. This phenomenon can be attributed to the heightened level of brain activity that occurs during wakefulness.
2.According to the esteemed Oxford English Dictionary, the playwright William Shakespeare is credited with introducing a staggering 3,000 words to the English language. In addition to this impressive feat, it’s estimated that Shakespeare’s vocabulary consisted of anywhere between 17,000 and 29,000 words.
3.In a February 14, 1990, Chicago Bulls game, Michael Jordan played wearing jersey No. 12 instead of his usual No. 23, due to a mix-up. Despite scoring an impressive 49 points, the Bulls lost the game, leading some to speculate that the change in Jordan’s jersey number may have affected his performance.
4.The most expensive map was the first to identify America. The United States Library of Congress paid a record-breaking $10 million for German cartographer Martin Waldseemüller’s Universalis Cosmographia, a world wall map created in 1507. It is the only copy of the map that has the name “America.”
5. Phantom Vibration Syndrome is when people feel their phone vibrating or ringing, even when it’s not. This happens because our brains are super attuned to phone signals. A survey that was done shows that over 90% of college students have experienced it, claiming it to be ‘’just a little’’ bothersome.
6. The first compass was invented in China during the 2nd century BC. It was made of lodestone, a naturally magnetised iron ore that had been studied for years.
