- According to data from EU satellite monitoring, this summer was the warmest on record in Europe. Extreme heatwaves and a protracted drought caused June, July, and August to break the previous record for heat. In Europe, August was “by a large margin” the warmest on record, according to the Copernicus Climate Change Service. They claimed August was the third warmest month ever measured globally. The recipients were sent emails purporting to be from Australian news sources, which contained links to malicious websites that would infect their devices with harmful malware after being filled with content stolen from BBC News. Vice-president of threat research and detection stated, “We take attribution extremely seriously. We expressly don’t reveal attribution unless we have high confidence.”
