1. Washing our hands is very important because it decreases the amount of harmful bacteria. But, did you know drying your hands with modern air dryers increases bacteria by 194% more? Disposable paper towels are said to be cleaner as they decrease bacteria up to 76%. Which one will you choose?

2. According to a brain scan of Mandarin and English speakers undertaken by the Wellcome Trust, Mandarin requires more brain capacity than English. While conversing or listening, English speakers used only the left half of their brain, but Mandarin speakers used both.

3. Da Vinci is widely regarded as one of the most famous artists. Da Vinci created the renowned paintings The Last Supper and Mona Lisa. His painting called the Salvator Mundi is regarded as the most expensive painting in the world, and Leonardo the most significant artists in Western art today.

4. In the Sonoran Desert, the jumping cholla is a large, attractive cactus. This plant has a negative aspect, despite its beauty. Its thorny cactus spikes would tangle with persons and animals who got too close, causing a painful reaction. The jumping cholla can represent the will to survive and strength.

5. Indonesia produces Kopi luwak, an expensive type of coffee at £523 per kilogram. The cherries of this unique Indonesian coffee are partially digested and defecated by the Asian palm civet, and then gathered by local farmers. How amazing that the world’s most expensive coffees come from animal feces?

6. Without the need for a farmer to enter the field, robot farmers can plant seeds, weed, irrigate, and spray. Most importantly, scientists are working on producing robot farmers who can also gather crops. Experts believe that those robots will be put to use in the not-too-distant future.
