  1. An anonymous traveller who managed to land a plane by himself after the pilot had passed out is being sought by Florida media networks. In public flight recordings, the unknown man could be heard telling the airport tower that he had no idea how to stop the aeroplane and that the pilot “has gone incoherent” and “was out.” Upon being asked his position, he could be no clearer than saying he could see the Florida coastline. An air traffic controller helped the passenger land safely at Palm Beach International Airport.
  2. The United Kingdom has signed mutual security agreements with Sweden and Finland. The countries agreed that, in the event of any if them being attacked, the others would come to its aid. The agreements were signed against the backdrop of the Russian invasion of the Ukraine, and ongoing discussions about Sweden and Finland joining NATO. Boris Johnson, the UK Prime Minister toured both countries to sign the agreements, and met with both Swedish PM Magdalena Andersson and Finnish President Sauli Niinistö.
  3. After officially confirming its first official Covid cases, North Korea has imposed a strict national lockdown. State media admitted that there was an Omicron outbreak in Pyongyang, but did not provide any numbers. North Korea has refused all vaccine programs, even when other countries have offered to provide them. North Korea preferred to control Covid by ending all cross-border movement. However, experts have long been sceptical of North Korea’s claims of never having recorded any Covid cases.
  4. A six-year-old boy discovered a shark tooth from a 20-million-year-old fossilised megalodon. During a bank holiday weekend in Suffolk, Sammy Shelton discovered the 10cm tooth on Bawdsey beach. Prof Ben Garrod, a shark expert, clarified it belonged to a megalodon, the world’s largest shark. Sammy, according to his father Peter Shelton, was sleeping with it just next to his bed because he was quite bonded to it. The couple, from Bradwell, were looking for fossils when they found the massive shark’s tooth, according to the Great Yarmouth Mercury.
  5. Electronic Arts has announced that it will no longer produce Fifa-branded football games. It is among the most lucrative franchises in video gaming history, however the expense of the licence was one of the factors that led to the decision to end the partnership. EA will continue making football video games, but they will be released under a new title, EA Sports FC, beginning of 2023. Fifa is confident in its decision confirming that FIFA is an original name and only one to exist.
  6.  According to the White House, there have been over one million Covid-related lives lost in the United States. To mark the occasion, President Joe Biden has ordered that flags be dispatched at half-staff. It is the world’s highest official total, even though the WHO believes the accurate number of deaths is much higher elsewhere. Out of a population of 330 million, the United States has documented over 80 million Covid cases. The first documented case occurred on January 20, 2020, when a man returned to Seattle from Wuhan, China.
