This week the team has created some rather informative and interesting facts. Enjoy these facts and learn something new about the events occurring in our world.

1. Your nose does more than what you think. It acts as an effective natural air conditioner. It warms cool air and cools warm air. It prevents a lot of impure air from getting inside your lungs and can even detect and store information of approximately 50,000 different scents.

2. Nelson Mandela was the first black president of South Africa from 1994 -1999 and the first president to be elected in a fully representative election. He was also one of South Africa’s first black lawyers. He was a leader who had a global impact. Name one leader you get your inspiration from and why?

3. Sheffield FC is recognised as the world’s oldest football club by FIFA and the FA (Football Association). The club was founded in 1857 and joined the Football Association in 1863. Have you heard of Sheffield FC and are they still a team today?

4. Strong and large scale earthquakes on the ocean floor, as well as massive volcanic eruptions in and around the ocean floor, are usually the major cause of the deadly waves known as Tsunamis. Can you name other factors that may cause a Tsunami?

5. The attention span of an average human is shorter than that of a goldfish. It is estimated to be 8 seconds in 2021 (it was around 20 seconds in 2000). Attention span depends on an individual’s likes and dislikes. Why do you think our attention span is reducing so rapidly?

6. Nike’s logo symbolises the sound of speed and movement (like a “Swoosh”). Nike bought this impactful logo made by a design student for $35. A few years later, the design student was gifted a diamond ring in the shape of NIke’s world-renowned logo. Could you imagine Nike without the swoosh.
